Creating images of the natural world using illustration and papercutting, inspired by natural history, ecology and a large collection of antiquarian books.
An artist living in the Lake District who represents the diversity of the natural world through drawing based practices. Researching the stories of natural history, she explores our past relationship with nature as means to illustrate present concerns for the future of many ecosystems and species.
Eleanor has a BA in Fine Art and Contemporary Critical Studies, an MA in Art As Environment and is a qualified teacher working with people of all ages. She likes to spend her time exploring in the Cumbrian landscape, visiting museums and hunting for second-hand books in charity shops and market stalls.
